Job Description
The Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing statutory and management reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. This role requires a proactive professional who can independently manage core accounting functions, support audits, and provide financial insights to aid decision-making.
Key Responsibilities;
Financial Accounting & Reporting
  • Prepare and post daily accounting entries into the ERP system.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS/GAAP.
  • Support preparation of management accounts with detailed schedules and variance analysis.
Payables & Receivables Management
  • Process supplier invoices, expense claims, and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier contracts and payment schedules.
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices; monitor collections and update debtor aging reports.
  • Lead follow-ups on outstanding receivables in collaboration with the Senior Accountant.
Reconciliations
  • Perform bank, M-Pesa, and petty cash reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Statutory & Compliance
  • Prepare and file VAT, PAYE, NSSF, SHIF, and other statutory returns.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and support external audits.
  • Maintain proper filing of statutory documents and returns.
Audit & Internal Controls
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Recommend improvements to internal controls and financial processes.
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Maintain orderly finance filing systems (digital and physical).
  • Provide financial insights to support budgeting and forecasting.
  • Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned by the Senior Accountant.
Knowledge, skills and experience required;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA Part II (Section 4) minimum; CPA finalist preferred.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting/ERP systems.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements and statutory returns.
